Recently, we came across an interesting article in Entrepreneur Magazine entitled “5 Ways Solopreneurs Can Scale Their Business Through Collaboration” (https://www.entrepreneur.com/growing-a-business/5-ways-solopreneurs-can-scale-their-business-through/473748). It’s an interesting read, and worth checking out if you haven’t already.
That said, we do believe that it leaves out one important item…that scaling your business is not only the best way to grow it, it also is the only way that you’ll be able to sell it.
You see, there are basically two kinds of businesses: “Lifestyle” businesses and “Value” businesses. Both are great, and we always admire anyone who has the courage to leave behind the (perceived?) security of a steady paycheck for the pursuit of their dreams and visions of making a difference. Entrepreneurs are the lifeblood of our economy and our communities.
To create transferable value for yourself, your family, and others, you’re going to need some help. If you one day wish to sell your business, then having a team of people who know how to run it in your absence is one of several critical components. Perhaps those ways to scale that the article references are just the beginning for you…
